Origin

On June 27th, 2024, season four episode five of The Boys premiered on Amazon Prime Video. At one point in the episode, Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito) says to The Boys, "It's an absolute wonder to me that you've all managed to live this long." That day, a screenshot of the scene was posted as a comment by X^[1] / Twitter user @venom1s in response to a behind-the-scenes photo by the official @TheBoysTV X page, writing, "Stan said what we've been wanting to say all this time," garnering over 5,100 likes in six days (shown below).

Spread

The meme became further popularized over the following days as it spread to other platforms. On June 29th, 2024, Redditor u/Croquettechloe posted a version of the meme to the /r/marvelmemes^[2] subreddit that garnered over 380 upvotes in four days (shown below, left).

On the same day, X^[3] user @BioWareProblems posted a version of the meme referencing Mass Effect, which was reposted by the Facebook^[4] page Commander Jane Shepard, garnering over 540 likes on the former and 480 reactions on the latter in four days (shown below, right).

On July 2nd, 2024, Redditor u/saberlily9 posted a version of the meme to /r/dankmemes^[5] referencing the toughest battles meme format that gained over 70 upvotes in a day (shown below).
