ITT: Talentless Hacks is a meme that is popular on 4chan and is believed to have originated from its mu board. It is usually posted with an image of someone pointing at the camera to imply the viewer is actually the "talentless hack".
Origin
The meme is believed to have originated from 4chan's /mu/ board alongside an image of American musician Lou Reed pointing toward the camera. One of the earliest archived instances of the meme dates back to March 2010.[1]
On November 8, 2013, the meme was posted on /mu/. An anon replied "hes pointing at all of us". The post received over 170 replies, most of which replied the phrase "Damn…".[2]
Spread
The meme is often posted on /mu/ with various images of musicians, usually an image of Lou Reed pointing toward the camera. Posters commonly reply that the person is pointing at "us", with anons commenting "Damn…" in reply. Posters also usually reply with images of people pointing toward the camera to imply the OP is the "talentless hack". It is also posted on other boards with images of people relevant to the board's subject. Less commonly, it is posted with an image of someone not pointing.
