My Dash Did a Thing is a hashtag associated with various screenshots of the Tumblr dashboard in which two or more posts from unique authors are displayed in a sequence that coincidentally compliment or work against each other in a humorous way.
Origin
One of the first posts tagged #mydashdidathing was published on August 18th, 2013 by Tumblr user aryanightshade,[1] featuring two separate posts from vloggers Dan and Phil. As of July 2014, the post has gained over 100 notes.
Spread
In 2013, six posts tagged my dash did a thing gained over 100 notes, including scopesandskullties'[3] post on Sherlock published on August 22nd, which has gained over 1,000 notes, troyesivan's[4] post published on August 26th, which has gained over 3,000 notes and doctorandroseinatardis'[5] post on Doctor Who published on November 21st, which has gained over 100 notes.
As of August 2014, twelve posts tagged my dash did a thing have gained over 100 notes, including --buttslut's[6] post on The Simpsons published on July 27th, which has gained over 2,000 notes, vera-is-probably-a-croat's[7] post on Supernatural published on July 28th, which has gained over 700 notes and supersleepyscandal's[8] post on Pokemon published on August 3rd, which has gained over 300 notes.
On July 28th, 2014, Redditor MariajBentzen posted a humorous Tumblr dashboard screenshot about The Hunger Games to the r/Tumblr[2] subreddit, within a week it gained over 100 points.

Reblog to see what X has to say on Your Dashboard is a small meme that revolves around putting half speech bubbles atop popular characters that seem to be talking so it seems as if the character in question has been talking about whatever the post above them is. Occasionally, characters that seem to be shouting are used as reaction images to spiteful walls of text to indicate to that user that they have been throwing an incoherent tantrum.
