Some Idiot Put The Weather Machine On 7 refers to a brief joke made in a Roblox viral video in which a newscaster announces, "Some idiot has put the weather machine on 7. We are all about to die. The disasters are as follows: Tornado—" as he then gets sucked up by a tornado. Since appearing in early April 2024, the clip has been spread on YouTube in various remixes and memes.

Origin

On April 6th, 2024, YouTuber Buur^[1] posted a Roblox skit video. At some point in the video, the characters argue about a "weather machine" that controls the weather, and a character sets the machine to "7," which causes natural disasters. After the weather machine is set to 7, it cuts to a newscaster who announces, "Some idiot has put the weather machine on 7. We are all about to die. The disasters are as follows: Tornado—" before he suddenly gets sucked up by a tornado. The video gained over 3.2 million views in six weeks (shown below).

Spread

On April 12th, 2024, YouTuber Awe^[2] isolated the clip, gaining over 230,000 views in five weeks (shown below, left). On May 8th, YouTuber Anonyamanus^[3] uploaded an edit of the clip, gaining over 31,000 likes in two weeks (shown below, right).

Edits also appeared on Twitter / X. For example, on May 13th, X user @cayres_fefe^[4] uploaded a Smiling Friends edit, gaining over 40 likes in one week (shown below, top). On May 18th, X user @AvatoplayzRBLX^[5] uploaded an edit that gained eight likes in two days (shown below, bottom).
