One of the most popular edits of the meme was posted July 30th, 2017 by user moskau1979, featuring a distorted popsicle of Spongebob Squarepants, gaining over 34,000 notes.

On December 20th, 2017, a blog devoted to such posts, thesoundthisimagemakes,^[2] launched. One of their more popular posts from December 21st gained over 5,300 notes (shown below).
