The photo was posted to X / Twitter in early October 2024 and went viral, becoming the subject of reactions, memes and redraws as an exploitable format in which people edited the objects being held, the background or other elements of the original.
Origin
On October 2nd, 2024, X[1] user @delete_hisnumbr posted a photograph taken from a first-person POV of herself holding a vibrator in her left hand and a gun in her right hand, aiming them at the closed front door as if ready to use them on an intruder. The post is captioned, "WHO’S THERE???" and garnered over 266,000 likes and 26,000 reposts in two days.

The post became the subject of reactions and memes over the following days, including redraws.
Later on October 2nd, 2024, X[2] user @chefkumquat quote-reposted the image, writing, "dis what I mean when I say if u break into my house ima do sumn strange to you," garnering over 108,000 likes in two days.
On October 3rd, X[3] user @neetpubby posted an edit of the image adding the Postal HUD, garnering over 1,500 likes in a day.
Later that day, X[4] user @m_1k4ng posted a Sonic the Hedgehog redraw of the meme, drawing the vibrator and gun wielded as Shadow, garnering over 11,000 likes in a day.
Also on October 3rd, 2024, Redditor u/rekdon reposted a screenshot of X user @chefkumquat's response to the post to the subreddit /r/BlackPeopleTwitter,[5] titling it "Don't Breathe 3: Bad Vibes," garnering over 1,900 upvotes in a day.
On October 8th, X[6] user @itsMattibad posted a redraw of the meme referencing My Hero Academia that garnered over 7,500 likes in two days.
