Supper Mario Broth @MarioBrothBlog The main menu of Mario Golf for the Nintendo 64 renders a mysterious number sequence, "2080: 520: 10872", on a black screen on every frame just to then overwrite it with the actual menu screen. Dataminers have to date been unable to determine the meaning of "2080: 520: 10872". MAIN MENU 2080: -AM aaa $20: 10872 GAME GAME GAME On every frame that the main menu of Mario Golf is rendered, the game first renders the above screen, with white text on a black background. The text contains a mysterious number sequence, 2080: 520: 10872", which is unsolved to this day. MAIN MENU PLAYERS ONE TWO THREE FOUR CONTINUE CLUBHOUSE Then, the actual main menu is rendered over the black screen, making it impossible for the player to ever see it. This happens on every frame; the numbers are typed out digit by digit and are then overwritten by the actual image by the end of the frame. Note that this entire setup is extremely unusual to begin with, as games do not usually waste time rendering something on every frame just to have the image be overwritten by something completely different. In fact, this is the only known case of something like this happening in a Mario game, which makes the purpose of the numbers even more baffling. ource: tcrf.net user "PacoChan", tcrf.net/File:MG64-Hidden Menu.png
