Andrew Garfield Laughing or Hehehehehehehe is a viral video clip of Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield laughing in a high-pitch tone. The clip originates from a WIRED interview posted to YouTube in December 2021 that went viral as an exploitable meme in early 2022, largely on TikTok where it was edited in a variety of ways and remixed with popular songs.
Origin
On December 7th, 2021, the WIRED YouTube[1] channel posted an interview video with Andrew Garfield where he answers "the web's most searched questions" about him. At the 5:10 timestamp, Garfield laughs in a specific, giggling manner that sounds like "hehehehehehehe" (shown below). The video gained over 11 million views in four months, and the laugh was clipped and reuploaded to YouTube[2][3] several times that month.
Spread
On January 16th, 2022, TikToker[4] @mcusanity posted an edit of the clip making it sound like Andrew Garfield says, "Hi I'm Andrew Garfield and this is my sex tape," followed by several repetitions of the laugh, edited to get higher and higher in pitch, gaining over 2.2 million views in three months (shown below). On February 14th, TikToker[5] @xox.random_editz.xox posted a similar edit slowing down the laugh to varying degrees, gaining over 500,000 views in two months.

Remixes
On March 20th, 2022, TikToker[6][7] @jonahpedro posted a video set to the Reading Rainbow Space Math trend using a cutout of his face and the audio, remixing it with the song and gaining over 920,000 views in just under a month (shown below, left). The same page posted a Crazy Frog remix edit using the clip on March 23rd, gaining over 8.8 million views in three weeks (shown below, right).

Remixes using the clip over various songs and videos became increasingly prevalent leading into late March and April 2022. For example, on March 26th, TikToker[8] @jonahpedro posted a remix of the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas theme using the clip, gaining over 4.4 million views in three weeks (shown below). On April 7th, YouTuber[9] Insta and Yt Virals posted a compilation of remixes, gaining over 20,000 views in six days. On April 12th, Oliver Tree shared a remix of his song "Life Goes On" with the clip made by the same TikToker to Instagram,[10] gaining over 38,000 likes in less than 24 hours.
