Dennis Reynolds is a character from the show It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia known for his characterization as an extreme narcissist. He is co-owner of Paddy's Pub and the brother of Dee Reynolds. Dennis is also implied to be a serial killer in the show, however this remains ambiguous as of 2023. He is played by actor Glenn Howerton and has given rise to various memes over the course of the show's 15 seasons, including Newsflash, asshole,, You dumb bitch, and Because of the implication.

Origin

Dennis Reynold's character was first introduced in a 2004 short film made by Rob McElhenny (who plays Mac in the show) and Glenn Howerton, the actor playing Dennis. The short film eventually led the way to the development of the pilot episode for a show by the name of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, also featuring Charlie Day, the actor playing the character Charlie in the show (seen below, left).^[1] On April 18th, 2019, YouTuber jay made a compilation of Dennis Reynold's "most unhinged" moments, gathering over 1 million views in three years (seen below, right).^[2]
