Dream is a Triplet, also known as Three Dreams, refers to misinformation about a fake photograph that shows three men who look like Minecraft YouTuber Dream, also known as Clay. Although the image was photoshopped many believed that it was real. Those who were aware that it was fake made memes using the image or perpetuated the hoax further.

Origin

On January 21st, 2023, Twitter^[1] user @TacoAmigo777 tweeted a photoshopped image of Dream with two male fans in which Dream's face was layered over their own. @TacoAmigo777 captioned the image, "DREAM IS A TRIPLET ?!?!?!? 😱😱😱," and over the course of two months, the tweet received roughly 25,800 likes (shown below).

The original image was posted by Twitter^[7] user @TacoAmigo777 roughly one hour after their first tweet on January 21st and showed an apparent Snapchat story from two fans that met Dream (shown below). The tweet gained roughly 2,500 likes in two months.

Spread

Later on January 21st, 2023, various Twitter users started to caption the photoshopped image in their own tweets. For instance, Twitter^[2] user @Memeulous captioned it, "dream blunt rotation," earning roughly 41,000 likes in two months (shown below, left). On January 23rd, 2023, Instagram^[3] user @imsowaved posted a screenshot of their own quote retweet ^[4] reading, "dream, nightmare & insomnia." The post gained roughly 20,400 likes in two months (shown below, right).

The image was reposted to content on TikTok ^[5] soon after. Also, in March 2023, the image saw a resurgence in usage after Twitter^[6] user @albert12798 tweeted it on March 16th with the caption, "THERES 3 OF THEM??" earning roughly 93,800 likes in four days.
