Overview

The Gerbert Allegations, also known as Gerbert The Egg Controversy, refers to accusations of racism, homophobia, transphobia, inappropriate conversations with minors and more against TikToker Gerbert (@gerberttheegg), real name Hunter Montez. The allegations were made in late August 2025 through a Google Doc with over 100 pages and went viral on sites like TikTok leading into September 2025. Gerbert responded to the claims with videos attempting to show that some of the evidence against him was faked.

Gerbert Allegations Document

On August 13th, 2025, a Google Doc^[1] titled "Happy birthday Hunter <3" (referencing Hunter Montez) was created and started spreading online. The document, which is over 100 pages long as of September 10th, compiles alleged evidence of problematic behavior by content creator Gerbert, or @gerberttheegg, a TikToker with over 500,000 followers.

The document includes many allegations against Gerbert, including accusations of racism and antisemitism, creating false online identities to trick people, threatening and blackmailing people, including threatening a school shooting, SA and unwanted sexual advances and more. Purported screenshots were provided to support many of these claims.

One of the described accusations refers to a girl named Angel, who claims that Gerbert sexualized her for her goth style and was overly touchy with her. According to Angel, she agreed to perform a sexual act with Gerbert in a Walmart bathroom, then changed her mind, but Gerbert continued to pressure her.

Another allegation claims that Gerbert threatened to shoot up a school on an alternate Instagram page and encouraged others to share the threat.

The document also lays out supposed evidence of antisemitic and racist sentiments from Gerbert. One section claims that Gerbert ran a TikTok account called vrillbertegg, which features videos referencing antisemitic dog whistles and memes like The Great Noticing and Vril. Some of these videos have been archived on the @vrillbert.archives TikTok account.

The document also provides links to videos on the Vishal_fetus YouTube^[2] channel, which has uploaded numerous videos that support the evidence against Gerbert. For example, one video allegedly shows Gerbert at 18 having an inappropriate conversation with a 15-year-old.

Developments

The allegations against Gerbert garnered viral spread on TikTok in late August 2025, resulting in numerous creators calling him out, including members of the content group YeSquad, consisting of members like PowEnvy and Vexbolts.

For example, on August 30th, 2025, TikToker^[3] and YeSquad member @yesloth posted a video about Gerbert that gained over 5.9 million views in just over a week.

Gerbert's Response

On August 31st, 2025, Gerbert posted two videos to TikTok^[4][5] claiming that people are "faking and manipulating screenshots" regarding the allegations.

In the first video, he shows supposed evidence that accusations of him talking to an 11-year-old may be false, garnering over 6.6 million views in a week.

In the second video, with over 14 million views, he elaborates on this alleged evidence and shows what he claims to be manipulation by playing the video back and forth in some video editing software.

Online Reactions

The Gerbert allegations were reacted to by many creators on TikTok in late August and early September 2025 as they spread online.

For example, on August 30th, 2025, YouTuber^[7] The leaping Lemur uploaded a video on the accusations against Gerbert, titled "The Gerbert allegations are INSANE ( P*do Alert )," which received over 105,000 views, 4,100 likes and 570 comments in 11 days.

On September 1st, 2025, TikToker^[6] @odigbonews posted a video reacting to the accusations, mentioning allegations that Gerbert wanted to sleep with his own mother and claims that he was inappropriately messaging a 13-year-old. The video gained over 109,000 likes in a week.
