The picture inspired a trend on Twitter / X in July 2024 in which artists replaced the grandma taking a photo and her grandson showing his muscles with anime, manga and video game characters, among other things, that matched the unusual duo's original energy. The man in the image is purportedly looksmaxxer Clavicular, a fact that was only widely realized in 2026, as Clavicular went viral online.

Origin

On June 28th, 2024, Redditor^[1] Available_Moose_3472 uploaded two pictures on the /r/LooksmaxingAdvice subreddit taken by his grandmother in the bathroom mirror in which he flexes his muscles, captioning it, "Looking for advice. 19M." The post (seen below) amassed over 1,500 upvotes and 390 comments in a month. The man in the photo is purported to be Clavicular.

Available_Moose_3472's bathroom photo with his grandma was widely spread on X over the following weeks, inspiring a redraw trend after the X^[2] page @insaneposes tweeted the picture on July 18th, 2024, amassing more than 11 million views and 203,000 likes in six days.

For example, on July 21st, X^[3] user @millawanda drew Smoke and Madam Bo from the Mortal Kombat fighting game (seen below, left), amassing more than 1,200 likes and 159 reposts in two days.

Also on July 21st, 2024, X^[4] user @DmitriOfLondor made a redraw of the viral photo featuring characters from the survival horror game SIGNALIS. The post (seen below, right) received roughly 1,300 likes and 119 reposts in two days.
