Hello Mario is a line from Luigi in the YouTube video "The Lost Nintendo Sex Ed. Tape." The line has been used as a copypasta for several parody videos.

Origin

The line first appeared in "The Lost Nintendo Sex Ed. Tape", which uses footage from Captain N and The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! The video starts with Captain N getting sucked into Nintendo Land through his television to learn sexual education lessons from Mario and Luigi. When Luigi appears, he says "Hello, Mario" in a serious tone. The video (shown below) was uploaded to YouTube by the2toms on June 4th, 2007,^[1] and has over 1.5 million views.

Spread

The line would be used as a copypasta for several videos over a decade later, starting in 2020. The earliest known instance was on July 7th, 2020, by Arcade Assassin in which Mario jumps into a Luigi painting (shown below, left). This video, titled "Hello Mario.", has over 50,000 views. Another video was posted to YouTube using the line on July 12th, 2020 by Mayo (shown below, right). This video, titled "Luigi's Awakening", has over 1.6 million views.

On January 2nd, 2022, Tiktok user cianeatsgrass posted the voice line in a video of Mario talking about the Nintendo 3DS's stylus. The video (shown below) received over 3.8 million views and over 585,000 likes in over one year.
