About
The Hyperpigmentation Drawing, also known as I Sat Here and Posed For Like 10 Minutes, Let Me See the Product, refers to a black-and-white pen drawing of a woman's face with a large black dot on her cheek said to be hyperpigmentation. The Hyperpigmentation meme is from a viral video of a little girl drawing her mom. Her parents both laugh at her artwork. The mom asks, "Is that hyperpigmentation?" It was originally posted to Facebook and Twitter / X in 2019 by a woman named Sonia Tiebi. It later went viral on video platforms like TikTok and Instagram in 2024. The Hyperpigmentation Drawing then became an exploitable as it was inserted into other meme templates and amassed fan art.
Origin
On May 4th, 2019, internet user Sonia Tiebi took a video of her daughter Sierra. In the video, she's made a portrait of her mom and, when she shows it to her, the mom asks, "Is that hyperpigmentation?" The mom and dad are both laughing or holding back laughter. It's currently unknown where the original video was posted first.
The YouTube[1] channel ViralHog licensed the video a month later and shared the original recording on June 10th, 2019, gaining over 1.5 million views in five years (shown below). In the video's description, they date it May 4th.
I sat here and posed for like 10 minutes, let me see the product. Is that me? No! No, it's nice! It's so Nice! Ohhh! I've never- I've never looked better. Oooo, where were you? Where were you when it was time for senior photos?
Mommy, I don't think it looks good.
It is fantastic! Oh my god! What's that? Is that hyperpigmentation? Just tell- Okay. You know what? I never seen nothing like this before. I just want you to just keep up, keep it up! Okay?
Well, why was daddy laughing?
Daddy don't know what he's doing anyway. That's how- That's how you say that's- That's a great drawing in French.
