About

I Be Like IDK And Be Knowing refers to a catchphrase that was coined on Twitter in mid-2020. In 2021, it was used on platforms like TikTok and Instagram where it was paired with different images and videos.

Origin

On August 4th, 2020, the rap artist Hook posted a tweet[1] that read, "I be like idk and be knowing," receiving roughly 169,200 likes over the course of a year and a half (shown below).

Spread

On November 3rd, 2020, Twitter[2] user Luljamarr posted a copycat tweet that received roughly 2,500 likes in a little over one year. This spread the catchphrase to Facebook, where Facebook[3] page Mystic Visions posted a text-post on December 28th, earning roughly 3,800 reactions over one year (shown below).

Other than Instagram and Facebook text-posts, the catchphrase didn't receive an increase in usage until late 2021. This is because of the TikToker[4] g33briel, who posted a video on October 24th, 2021, that used the catchphrase. The TikTok (shown below) received roughly 739,900 plays and 198,100 likes over the course of two months.

A screenshot of g33briel's TikTok was reposted to Instagram[5] by the account lifeisnotasoup the next day, where it received roughly 1,700 likes (shown below). The screenshot was posted by other accounts too, like Facebook[6] page Dank Memes, who made their post on October 27th and earned roughly 1,700 reactions and 4,800 shares.
