If You Know How I Feel Why Would You Say That a reaction video and copypasta first cried by Kim Kardashian on an episode of the reality television series Kourtney and Kim Take New York in 2012. The scene first became popular on YouTube in 2015 and gather edits that typically used the audio in remixes or reaction clips. In 2020, the clip was uploaded to TikTok and became popular lip-sync audio.

Origin

On January 29, 2012, The final episode of Kourtney and Kim Take New York aired on E! and featured a scene in which Kim Kardashian cries to her sister Kourtney and says "If you know how I feel, why would you say that? Like you put me in such an uncomfortable situation, like you know that I'm not happy, you know that I'm trying to see if it will work out here, and I know that it's not." (shown below). The clip was first uploaded to YouTube on August 22nd, 2015 and gained over two million views and 34,000 likes in five years.



Spread

On August 22, 2015, YouTuber Ella Ciris uploaded a Spongebob Squarepants clip using the audio (shown below, left). The edit garnered over 604,500 views in five years (shown below, left). On November 17th, 2017, YouTuber Vincent A. uploaded a remixed version of the audio and received over 120,500 views in three years (shown below, right). That same month the lines were posted to r/copypasta.[1]

On February 16th, 2020, TikToker @gossip_girlxoxo uploaded the original clip and gained over 86,500 likes in four months (shown below, left). On April 7th, TikToker @thisisvirginiakerr uploaded a video lipsyncing the audio with the caption "when your husband refuses to be in your video so you have to play him too" (shown below, center). The video gained over 110,200 likes in two months. On May 14th, TikToker @chadwena uploaded an ironic lipsync video using the audio and accumulated over 808,300 likes in a month (shown below, right).
