"I'm Forming My Own Cloud Here" is the opening lyric from the 2015 song "We're Beautiful" by ABSRDST and Diveo. The lyric first went viral on TikTok in late 2018 and early 2019 as it inspired a dance and lip sync trend before garnering virality again in July 2024 as a video by TikToker @kuromiboy based on it inspired parodies.

Origin

On March 14th, 2015, music producers ABSRDST and Diveo released the song "We're Beautiful" on Soundcloud,[1] where it accumulated over 2.45 million streams in nine years (shown below).

On December 9th, 2018, TikToker[2] @thattiktokgirly posted a dance and lip sync video based on the opening lyric of the song. The upload (shown below) garnered over 687,000 views and 49,000 likes in six years.

The upload inspired various duets, remakes, reactions and edits on TikTok in late December 2018 and early 2019 (examples shown below).[3][4] On December 11th, 2018, YouTube[5] user Shi uploaded a TikTok dance chain based on the lyric started by TikToker @rain_cwb, with the upload accumulating over 141,000 views in six years.

In early July 2024, prior to July 6th, TikTok user @kuromiboy posted a video in which he danced to the lyric while wrapped in festive lights (original upload since removed). On July 7th, TikTok[6] user @..kurmiboy reuploaded the video and received over 1.2 million views and 42,400 likes in two days (shown below).

In early July 2024, the video became a subject of parodies and edits, with users labeling it "freaky." On July 6th, TikTok[7] user @salaosena captioned the video, "if this was posted in 2020 this would've reached NUMBERS," with the upload (shown below, left) gaining over 2.8 million views and 444,000 likes in three days.

On July 8th, 2024, TikTok[8] user @.kuromiboyy posted a meme that received over 869,000 views and 128,000 likes in one day (shown below, right).

The trend resulted in @kuromiboy, the uploader of the original video, deleting their TikTok account.
