I'm Not Straight / Okay Maybe I'm Straight refers to an exploitable three panel image. The first image features the YouTube thumbnail of YouTuber Amy Ordman's video "I'M NOT A LESBIAN" edited to read "I'M NOT STRAIGHT." The second features a humorous male figure, and the third shows the thumbnail for Ordman's video "OK MAYBE I AM A LESBIAN" edited to read "OK MAYBE I AM STRAIGHT."

Origin

On July 17th, 2016, YouTuber Amy Ordman posted a video titled "I'M NOT A LESBIAN," gaining over 402,000 views (shown below, left). Nearly a year later, on June 14th, 2017, she posted an update titled "OKAY, MAYBE I AM A LESBIAN" that gained over 270,000 views (shown below, right).

Spread

The format saw early use on Twitter shortly after Ordman posted her second video. On September 24th, 2017, Twitter user @joulmusique posted a joke using the original thumbnails, with a man pouring chocolate on in himself as the punchline image. The tweet gained over 4,200 retweets and 3,500 likes (shown below).

In January of 2019, the format began seeing use as an exploitable on Reddit, with the sexuality mentioned in the thumbnails changed. One of the earliest examples was posted to /r/MemeEconomy^[1] on January 24th, 2019 using Guy Fieri and gained over 30,000 points (shown below, left). The same day, a post using Stefan Karl appeared on /r/dankmemes, gaining over 31,000 points (shown below, right).

Other popular posts include a post to /r/pyrocynical using Pyrocynical that gained over 1,400 points (shown below, left). A post in /r/garlicbreadmemes gained over 3,000 points (shown below, right). The format was covered by Stayhipp.^[2]
