Jaden Smith "Political and Economic State of the World" / "BROOOO," also known as "Can We Talk About the Political and Economic State of the World Right Now?" refers to a clip of Jaden Smith on the BigBoyTV podcast in which he critiques people his age, calling them immature because they won't talk about "the political and economic state of the world." The podcast host, Kurt "Big Boy" Alexander, shouts "Bro!" during Smith's monologue, meant to mock Smith's Gen Z peers along with him. The interview happened in 2018, but the clip first went viral in 2022. Internet users made fun of Smith for being too deep and corny, expressed in memes and viral posts on Twitter / X. In late 2024 and early 2025, the meme was revived on TikTok and Instagram Reels where absurd edits and "99.99% Accuracy" reenactments were shared.

On June 1st, 2018, Jaden Smith was interviewed on the BigBoyTV podcast.^[1] A few years later, on April 9th, 2022, an eight-minute clip from it was reposted on the BigBoyTV YouTube^[2] channel, receiving over 1.2 million views in three years.

At the video's 4:06-minute mark (shown below), Jaden starts talking about spending more time with adults than people his own age. He then mocks his peers with an impression, making Kurt "Big Boy" Alexander exclaim, "Bro!" to add to the impression. Smith then says, "Dude, oh my god, can we talk about the political and economic state of the world right now?"

On April 17th, 2022, X^[3] user @kirawontmiss tweeted the abovementioned clip, captioning it, "LMFAOOO Jaden Smith is not real," amassing over 217,000 likes in three years (shown below).

In the following days, many on X joked about Smith saying that he wanted to talk about "the political and economic state of the world." For instance, on April 17th, X^[4] user @jihadydon tweeted screencaps of Travis Scott's Apology Video, captioned, "Jaden Smith when he sees kids going to birthday parties instead of discussing politics and the economic state of the world," gaining over 269,000 likes in two months (shown below).

Also on April 17th, 2022, X^[5] user @KamsIntern tweeted the Sad SpongeBob meme, captioned, "8-year-old Jaden Smith when Jada gave him a Spider-Man-themed birthday party instead of a book study on the war of Mesopotamia," gaining over 29,000 likes in three years (shown below).

On August 18th, 2024, TikToker^[6] @cefl07 reposted the original clip, gaining over 709,800 likes in five months.

On August 21st, TikToker^[7] @brownshaft posted a screen recording of the aforementioned video in which they repeatedly replayed Big Boy shouting, "Bro!" receiving over 29,200 likes in five months (shown below).

Heading into 2025, a trend of reenacting the clip with accuracy spread on TikTok, started by TikTokers Cookie King and Dilling10.

For instance, on January 17th, 2025, TikToker^[8] Dilling10 (@dilling10) shared a video of him and Cookie King reciting the podcast's quotes, gaining over 851,700 likes in a week (shown below).

On January 18th, Cookie King shared a TikTok^[9] to his alt account @miamicookie, showing himself mashing the Jaden Smith interview with other iconic lines from memes like Jeff Bliss saying, "Instead of handing them a friggin' packet, yo." The video earned over 114,400 likes in six days (shown below).

Others added to the trend, like TikToker^[10] @maccheesin on January 22nd, 2025, who went for a "world record attempt" with "99.98% accuracy," gaining over 155,000 likes in two days (shown below).

During the same timeframe, others made absurd edits of the podcast clip, like TikToker^[11] @.madderr on January 21st, who slowed down, sped up and chopped the clip, focusing on Big Boy screaming, "Bro!" The video amassed over 1.9 million likes in three days (shown below).

On January 23rd, 2025, Instagram^[12] user @yocrizp shared a black-and-white screencap of Big Boy yelling with no further context. The post received over 2,200 likes in a day (shown below).
