About

Justin Timberlake Mugshot is a police booking photograph of American singer Justin Timberlake following his arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated (DWI, also known as a DUI) in June 2024. The singer's arrest garnered significant media attention shortly after, as well as becoming an exploitable meme format for various Photoshop edits and other memes across social media.

Origin

On June 18th, 2024, TMZ[1] revealed Justin Timberlake's booking photo mugshot following his DWI arrest in Sag Harbor, New York. The X[2] account @PopCrave also shared the singer's mugshot (seen below), which amassed more than 115,000 likes and 14,000 reposts in a day.

After the mugshot was released, social media almost immediately began making jokes about the picture and Timberlake's arrest. For instance, on June 18th, 2024, X[3] user @DatDaDatty posted a photoshopped edit of the mugshot featuring characteristics of the One Piece protagonist Monkey D. Luffy. The post (seen below, left) received over 8,700 likes and 270 reposts in a day.

On the same day, X[4] user @WukaZuka joked about the singer's mugshot using a Penguins of Madagascar image captioning it, "This how justin timberlake looked in his mugshot." The post received roughly 180 likes and 10 reposts in a day (shown below, right).

This Is Going to Ruin the Tour

This Is Going to Ruin the Tour is a quote reportedly spoken by Justin Timberlake to the police when he was pulled over for drunk driving in Sag Harbor, New York. The full context of the quote claims that Timberlake said under his breath, "This is going to ruin the tour," the cop asked, "What tour?" and Timberlake responded, "The world tour." Page Six reported the anecdote on June 18th, 2024, and it became the subject of ironic memes as a catchphrase over the following days, typically used as a slang term to express disappointment after an inconvenience.
