Kim Kardashian's Jack in the Box Tweet refers to a public social media post made by reality television star and celebrity Kim Kardashian about the fast food restaurant Jack in the Box. Following the post, people online mocked the post and made jokes at Kardashian's expense.

Origin

On May 20th, 2019, Kim Kardashian tweeted, ^[1] "Hey, Jack In The Box I have a serious complaint but I won’t fully put you on blast, check your corporate email inbox or send me a DM with direct person for my team to contact. Pronto!" The tweet received more than 6,800 retweets, 7,200 comments and 85,000 likes in 24 hours (shown below).

Following the post, people began mocking the tweet by speculating about Kardashian's complaint and what Jack in the Box's response would be. People began posting their ideas. For example, Twitter^[2] user @tomgara tweeted, "Ma'am this is a Jack in the Box," a variation of the Sir, This Is an Arby's meme. The post received more than 390 retweets and 4,500 likes in 24 hours (shown below, left).

Additionally, various fast food restaurants responded to the tweet, including Wendy's ^[3] and Shake Shake.^[4] Burger King tweeted,^[5] "🔊 Jack In The Box to the principal’s office." The tweet received more than 7,000 retweets and

Kardashian, later, added to her initial post, writing "I would like to add that this is not about me or a wrong order. Nobody recognized me and it’s something that I observed that affected other customers at this particular location that was concerning." The second tweet^[6] received more than 950 retweets and 28,000 likes in 24 hours (shown below, right).

Others made jokes referencing the Speak to the Manager meme. Twitter user @TheItalianPacca tweeted,^[15] "the biggest 'can i speak to your manager' of all time damn." Within 24 hours, the tweet received more than 375 retweets and 7,900 likes (shown below, left). Twitter^[16] @VinnyxVega tweeted a photoshopped image of Kardashian with the Speak to the Manager haircut (shown below, right).

That day, Jack in the Box's verified account responded to Kardashian's tweet. They wrote,^[7] "Thanks, Kim, for talking with us today. We are taking actions to ensure that everyone has positive experiences when visiting Jack in the Box." Within 24 hours, the tweet received more than 420 retweets and 15,000 likes (shown below, left).

Kardashian responded,^[8] "Thank you @JackBox for the quick response and handling the situation!" Her final tweet received more than 430 retweets and 15,000 likes in 24 hours (shown below, right).
