About
Minecraft Fail also know as the Creeper Rape Video is an animated viral video by YouTuber Gonzossm that depicts Minecraft Steve being violated by a creeper who attempts to blow up his house, the creeper returning later to blow him up anyway. The video was posted to YouTube in April 2012 and garnered over 27 million views over the next 13 years, inspiring memes referencing it.
Origin
On April 11th, 2012, YouTuber[1] Gonzossm posted an animated video titled "MINECRAFT FAIL, A Minecraft Parody" that garnered over 27 million views in 13 years. In the video, Steve builds a house and then beats up and abuses a creeper that comes and tries to blow the house up. The creeper later returns to kill Steve (embed unavailable).

The video became the subject of memes and referential posts over the following years. On August 21st, 2019, a now deleted Redditor posted a screenshot of the video and a comment under the video reading "I cant believe I watch this when I was just 7 now I'm 13 dang" to the /r/youngpeopleyoutube[2] subreddit, garnering over 15,000 upvotes in six years.
On January 12th, 2024, Redditor u/Environmental_Rub662 posted an Uncanny Mr. Incredible meme to the /r/MinecraftMemes[3] subreddit about the video, garnering over 11,000 upvotes in a year. On March 28th, the original video was reposted to the /r/okbuddyretard[4] subreddit, garnering over 1,100 upvotes in the same span of time.
On November 7th, X[5] user @Delby___ quote-reposted an image of the "do you like my sword" video, writing, "I hate this artstyle cuz its the same as that creeper rape video," garnering over 56,000 likes in five months. On November 9th, TikToker[6] @rare_.1303 posted a Jollyposting meme based on the animation, garnering over 2.4 million views in the same span of time.

On April 12th, 2025, X[7] user @carlongos2 posted an edit of Jack Black as Steve from A Minecraft Movie on a movie theater screen holding a creeper in a headlock and yelling, "Bring me that ass," a reference to the creeper rape video, garnering over 184,000 likes in two days.
