About
Roaches in the Cereal refers to a viral video posted by TikTok user @munchieexo called "POV: Telling my mom she neglected us prank," in which he lies to his mom about roaches being in the cereal when he was younger. The lie makes her exclaim, "Roaches in the cereal? Ah!" The original video was posted in March 2025. It became a viral TikTok sound and meme audio in the following months.

On March 25th, 2025, TikToker[1] @munchieexo posted a prank video called "POV: Telling my mom she neglected us prank." At one point, he tells her that there were roaches in his cereal growing up, making her exclaim, "Roaches in the cereal? Ah!" The video received over 2.1 million likes in two months (shown below).

On April 10th, 2025, TikToker[2] @finnwithaheadset posted a video that used the Red Circle Perpetrators format, likening the mom to Goku. The video received over 11,000 likes in a month (shown below).

On April 11th, TikToker[3] @acebaby2xx posted a similar video that used one of the top comments left on the original video, again representing the mom in Dragon Ball terms. Over one month, the video gained over 818,200 likes (shown below).

The abovementioned video sparked a viral TikTok sound[4] that was used by others. For instance, on April 23rd, 2025, TikToker[5] @rl.kaybaee lip dubbed the sound to joke about lying on a scholarship application, gaining over 191,900 likes in 10 days (shown below).

On April 27th, TikToker[6] @media.bastard used the sound, adding it to a scene from the Despicable Me franchise. In a week, the video gained over 181,800 likes (shown below).
