On December 7th, 2022, Facebook^[1] user Fajar Ekka Setyawan uploaded the earliest known "Looks Like Bocchi" joke by showing an image of bars of soap that match Bocchi's pink hair and blue and yellow hair clips. The image received 504 reactions and 491 shares (shown below).

Things That Look Like Among Us Crewmates refers to a series of image macros depicting various objects and images that resemble the crewmate from the video game Among Us. In memes, many of these typically appear alongside text expressing insanity and frustration over seeing the character in everyday life.

On December 20th, 2022, Reddit^[2] user mimocha uploaded a photo of a pink piece of paper and blue and yellow paperclips to the /r/goodanimemes subreddit. The post received more than 1,800 upvotes in one month (shown below).

Starting in 2023, the meme began growing more popular on Facebook. For example, on January 8th, 2023, Facebook^[3] page Perma Banned uploaded a photo of a pink-colored towel with two clothespins. The photo received more than 6,600 reactions and 2,100 shares in one week (shown below, left). On January 9th, 2023, Facebook^[4] page Certified Kino Bot – Cinephile Bot uploaded an image from Breaking Bad with a red circle connecting a line from the show with Bocchi. The post received more than 10,000 reactions and 3,800 shares in one week (shown below, right).

On January 15th, 2023, Facebook^[5] user Dave Gamao uploaded an image of a pink-colored desktop screen with a blue and yellow Python icon in the upper left to the "That Time I got Reincarnated as a LowRes member" group. The post received more than 1,800 reactions and 413 shares in two days (shown below).
