On September 13th, 2018, a Nintendo Direct teaser for 's Mansion 3 showed Luigi using a could shoot plungers at ghosts. This ability was actually first seen in "Vampire Killer," Simon and Richter's reveal trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, when Luigi shot a plunger at a Castlevania mummy.

Supper Mario Broth @MarioBrothBlog The script of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon has four baffling "off-color spaces", individual space characters that are internally colored an imperceptibly lighter color than the text despite spaces being by definition invisible. The purpose of this remains a mystery. I've triangulated the powerful paranormal signal, and it's coming from...the Cellar. You would not be able to tell by looking, but this space between "paranormal" and "signal" is special. For an unknown reason, internally, this space is set to be a very slightly different color from the surrounding text, even though spaces are by definition invisible and changing its color is thus completely meaningless. There are four instances of this in the game, each one specifically coloring a single space into a color that is virtually imperceptibly brighter than the text. Regular text color (#FDFDFD) Color of the space (#FFFCFC) Even looking directly at the boundary between the two colors, as indicated by the arrow, shows that the difference is nearly imperceptible. Increasing the contrast on your device or viewing the screen from a sharp angle may help you see it, but even these methods are not guaranteed to work.
