Bart Ay Cabron, or "Oh Fuck" in English, refers to a Spanish expression used alongside an image macro of an untooned version of Bart Simpson. The expression was created by YouTuber w2mcrew in August 2013 and popularized as an ironic meme phrase in May 2019.

Origin

On August 27th, 2013, YouTube^[1] user w2mcrew uploaded a comedy skit video titled in Spanish "You're A Teenager If." The skit shows two comedians acting as teens, and in one interaction the Mexican actor Christian Martell says the expression "Ay Cabrón" (English: "Oh Fuck") as a shocked reaction to what the other actor said during the skit. The video (seen below) garnered 2.9 million views and 131,000 likes in 11 years.

The Spanish expression "Ay Cabrón" (English: "Oh Fuck") used in the video resurfaced on May 13th, 2019, after YouTube^[2] user miguelpizanatapia426 posted a video featuring the clip from the original skit in which the Mexican comedian says the catchphrase. The video (seen below) garnered 107,000 views and 1,800 likes in four years.

On March 20th, 2022, YouTube^[3] user censedglint44shitposter23 posted a video featuring a purposely low-quality image of an untooned version of Bart Simpson Photoshopped into a forest fire with the overlay text in Spanish "ay cabron." The video (seen below) also features the song "Pacas Verdes" by Natanael Cano playing in the background. It received 240,000 views and 16,000 likes in one year.

Bart's "ay cabron" version of the meme became popularized as an image macro for shitposting videos on TikTok. For instance, TikTok^[4] user @andrew_start posted a video that says "my mom – it’s good that my daughter goes to school to study. Me: with a positive pregnancy test in my backpack." The post (seen below, left) garnered 2.7 million plays and 509 likes in a month. User TikToker^[5] @jorgevm21 posted a video about the moment you realize you've spent 2 hours using the mobile data instead of the wifi. The video (seen below, right), uploaded on April 18th, 2023, received 132,000 plays and 27,200 likes in a month.
