About
"Beep Beep I'm a Sheep" refers to a line and song from a popular YouTube video by asdfmovie creator Thomas Ridgewell aka YouTuber TomSka. While it first appeared a brief moment in a behind the scenes video from Ridgewell's blog, it soon became the subject of several highly-viewed remixes and eventually appeared in an official asdfmovie video.
Origin
On July 4th, 2016, YouTuber DarkSquidge, the secondary YouTube channel of Ridgewell, which he reserves for the behind-the-scenes videos and previews, uploaded the video "Last Week I Ate A Pug." During the video, he and several of his colleagues begin singing "beep beep, I'm a sheep." The video received more than 168,000 views.
Spread
Several hours after Ridgewell posted "Last Week I Ate a Pug," on July 4th, 2016, another YouTuber, Coasterfan312, posted a remix, which received more than 62,000 views.
On July 10, 2016, YouTuber Ikeikei S2 uploaded an animated version of Ridgewell's audio from "Last Week I Ate A Pug." The video received more than 41,000 views.
On July 17th, 2016, YouTuber Diegoisawesome remixed the original clip with the beat from Mark Ronson's and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk." The video, entitled "Beep Beep Uptown Sheep," appears to have provided the beat for future versions of the song. It received more than 8,000 views.
On April 1st, 2017, TomSka published the video "asdfmovie10," featuring himself and YouTuber and voice-over artist Black Gryph0n which contained a new version of "Beep Beep I'm a Sheep," as well as a brief remix of the song. The video, as of April 3rd, 2017, has received more than five-million views.
On April 1st, 2017, other YouTubers began posting the song by itself. YouTuber DefinitelyNotMalitis posted "BEEP, BEEP, I'M A SHEEP (full scene)" to more than 13,000 views, and YouTuber 4DWin.com posted "Beep Beep I'm A Sheep Song For 10 Hours," which received more than 31,000 views.
Soon after the video hit YouTube, YouTuber LilDeuceDeuce, who has produced music videos from "asdfmovie" in the past, posted a fully produced music video and remix for the song. It has since received more than 1.6 million views.
Since the release of LilDeuceDeuce's remix, YouTubers have been uploading parodies of the song.
