Bubble Bass' Order refers to a short scene from the SpongeBob SquarePants cartoon in which the character Bubble Bass is ordering food while Squidward writes down the order and says the memorable line, "We serve food here, sir!" Online, people have tried to recreate the order from the scene, which notably developed into a copypasta format on Reddit in 2016 and also appeared in memes, primarily related to fast food or SpongeBob content.

Origin

The "Pickles" episode of SpongeBob SquarePants aired on August 21st, 1999, in the United States.^[1] In this episode, SpongeBob loses his confidence after forgetting to put the pickles on a Krabby Patty for his nemesis Bubble Bass, who appears in a scene ordering absurd requests for his "Double Triple Bossy Deluxe" burger.

The earliest known online mention of Bubble Bass' order was posted on YouTube^[2] by user @Wolfgar115 on March 3rd, 2013, amassing more than 5.5 million views and 161,000 likes in 11 years (seen below).

The full order reads:

"I'll take a Double Triple Bossy Deluxe on a raft, 4×4 animal style, extra shingles with a shimmy and a squeeze, light axle grease; make it cry, burn it, and let it swim."

On November 18th, 2016, Reddit^[3] user @trollmario made a post on the /r/copypasta subreddit, sharing Bubble Bass' order (shown below, top), which amassed roughly 50 upvotes in eight years. On June 1st, 2021, X^[4] / Twitter user @Keyztothecity__ posted the copypasta paired with an image macro of Squidward saying, "We serve food here, sir!" The post (shown below, bottom) amassed just five likes in three years.

On May 22nd, 2018, YouTuber^[5] @babishculinaryuniverse tried to recreate Bubble Bass' order and burger in real life (shown below). The video amassed more than 18 million views and 327,000 likes in six years.
