It has never been confirmed that this is what Jackson is actually referring to in the song.

Origin

In 1993, Alan Jackson released the song "Chattahoochee,"^[1] featuring the below lyrics:

As early as 2013, people online began discussing the potential meaning of the song, noting its sexual lyrics and how they didn't understand them as a kid. For example, on August 5th, 2013, a post was made to the Tiger Droppings^[2] forum in which a user claimed the above lyrics refer to smoking weed in a car, resulting in numerous posters claiming it actually refers to sex.

On July 1st, 2020, Urban Dictionary^[3] user Alan Jaxsun defined "Burger and a grape snow cone" as, "A handjob given out of pity when a girl rejects your offer for sex." On March 4th, 2021, Urban Dictionary user NowYouKnowBruh posted a higher-upvoted definition, writing:

A euphemism or phrase that describes oral sex or 69. When two people enjoy a 'burger' and a 'grape snow cone', the burger represents the vagina (also known as fur burger) and the grape snow cone represents the penis (something to hold and lick, the grape flavor representing the purple color of the head of the penis).

In October 2021, TikTokers began posting videos about the lyrics, often encouraging viewers to Google "burger and snow cone" to learn the meaning. One of the earliest of these videos was posted on October 25th, 2021 by TikToker^[4][5] @freighttrainofficial, where he purposely defines the term as Jackson innocently going to get a burger and snow cone, garnering over 2 million views in two years (shown below, left). The videos inspired numerous comments referring to the sexual definition of the term on Urban Dictionary. On October 26th, @freighttrainofficial posted a follow-up video reacting to a commenter telling him to Google it, garnering over 64,000 views in two years (shown below, right).

The trend continued to spread throughout late 2021. On October 27th, 2021, Distractify^[6] writer Kelly Corbett published an article titled, "This Is What the Phrase 'Burger and a Grape Snow Cone' Actually Means." On October 29th, TikToker^[7] @andrewflanagan13 posted a video sharing the Urban Dictionary definition that gained over 221,000 likes in two years (shown below).

The trend saw a resurgence in July 2023. On July 19th, 2023, TikToker^[8] @vhays posted a video telling viewers to look up the term, garnering over 2.2 million views in a week (shown below, left). On July 24th, TikToker^[9] @bwhite_777 posted a video where she gets her partner to look up the definition, garnering over 2 million views in three days (shown below, right).
