About

"Did Nothing Wrong" Squad is a catchphrase used alongside collages that depict multiple villains from various media, usually manga, anime and video games, that are captioned "Did nothing wrong squad," "Did nothing wrong society" or in a similar way, referencing the Hitler Did Nothing Wrong meme. The memes imply that the characters depicted in the meme have not done anything morally wrong despite many of them having committed murder and other crimes.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Vergil yet.
Dude is like the perfect example of it.

In DMC1 he was being puppeteered by Mundus.
In DMC3 he was being manipulated by Arkham who hid what summoning Temen-Ni-Gru would do.
In DMC5 he was split in two, with his demon half acting without his human half's conscience (the latter even risking life and limb to stop it---which the books confirm was done out of a sense of duty and a genuine desire to do the right thing)

Even his famous obsession with power is the result of feeling guilty for being too weak to protect his mother & brother---and his obsession with defeating Dante is the result of his fear that if he's too weak to defeat him then he's too weak to protect him.
