Overview

Mak0zy Grooming Allegations refers to a series of accusations made against small Twitch streamer Mak0zy, also known as Davey_772, claiming that he knowingly groomed and sent inappropriate messages to a teenager over Discord. In late January 2025, a leaked Discord message in which Mak0zy is roleplaying with someone who was allegedly a minor at the time started spreading on X / Twitter, with several other messages leaking over the following days. In response, Mak0zy announced he was quitting content creation and that he was going to commit suicide. The allegations inspired memes and discourse online, including memes comparing Mak0zy's suicide claim to the goonicide incident.

Background

On January 15th, 2025, X^[9] user jnxcedNO_mei, the alt account for X user @BOYW0ND3R_, made a post claiming they were groomed recently by someone over 20 years old, stating that they were 16. On January 16th, they then revealed that it was streamer Mak0zy. The account is private.

On or just prior to January 28th, 2025, a Discord DM allegedly sent by Mak0zy to X user @BOYW0ND3R_, who was allegedly a minor at the time of receiving the message, was posted to X by the victim. In the message, Mak0zy graphically describes a sexual fantasy involving the victim, referring to sexual assault and specifically mentioning that they are underage.

The original X^[1] post by @BOYW0ND3R_ sharing the DM appears to have been deleted. However, the user reshared the DM a day later in a post to X^[2] reading, "for those of you who are trying to defend mak0zy he very well knew I was a minor and he even emphasized it when he would sext me."

Developments

On January 28th, 2025, Mak0zy (@mak0zy) made a post to X^[3] responding to the leaked DM, writing, "I'm very sorry to everyone I disappointed. I never wanted any of this. goodbye and thank you for everything." He continued the thread, "None of you will ever see me again. I hope you never find out the reason why I had to do this."

Shortly after, X^[4] user @tha_stupid commented, "I don't see a single of your posts in two weeks and the first thing I see you do is quit?" Mak0zy responded, "I'm not quitting I'm killing myself. I just wanna make that clear," garnering over 6,300 likes in two days.

Additional Allegations

Following the leak of the first DM, other similar accusations and pieces of alleged evidence against Mak0zy were posted. On January 28th, 2025, X^[7] user @AsukaBoyPussy posted a Discord screenshot in which someone claimed that Mak0zy "rage sent" CP to people over a disagreement.

On January 29th, X^[8] user @tastefullysaucy quote-reposted Mak0zy's response to the allegations, sharing another inappropriate Discord DM, writing, "The reason he is killing himself is because he was caught sending texts like this to a child," garnering over 110,000 likes in a day.

Online Reactions

The allegations against Mak0zy and Mak0zy's response to the accusations inspired memes and discourse online, with many showing very little sympathy for the streamer and his threat of suicide. For example, on January 28th, 2025, X^[5] user @MastooFGC posted a meme of god sending Mak0zy to hell, garnering over 3,600 likes in two days.

After making his post threatening suicide, X^[6] user @notroxfr quote-reposted it with the "goonicide" video, writing, "2nd #goonicide of the year already," garnering over 142,000 likes in two days. On the same day, X^[10] user @StreetK1d_ quote-reposted an old post by Mak0zy in which he jokes, "I'm 21 and my girlfriend is 13 😭," in reaction to a meme about star signs, writing, "W foreshadowing," garnering over 125,000 likes in two days.

On January 30th, 2025, Redditor u/ggggggggjdj posted a screenshot of Mak0zy's response to /r/GetNoted,^[11] a subreddit for sharing entertaining X Community Notes, titling the post, "Bro got exposed on his OWN suicide note for being a pedophile💀," garnering over 3,000 upvotes in around three hours.
