Overview

MrBeast vs. PewDiePie (Also Known As The Final Subscriber War) is a supposed YouTube battle between YouTubers MrBeast and PewDiePie for the race of the most-subscribed individual creator on the platform. The battle started when it was reported that MrBeast was approaching the 100-million subscriber milestone and possibly overtake PewDiePie. This marks the third subscriber war of YouTube, behind PewDiePie vs. T Series and PewDiePie vs. Cocomelon

Background

On September 8th, 2020, a YouTuber named "TheTekkitRealm" made a video [1] titled "MrBeast vs PewDiePie – The Final YouTube War", where he talks about a potential battle between MrBeast and PewDiePie in terms of subscriber count. The video garnered almost 170,000 views in over a year.



On December 11th, 2021, a YouTube named "PeastBew Gas" made a video [2] where he references the GAS GAS GAS meme. The video shows a future prediction of the subscriber counts of MrBeast and PewDiePie in 5 years. It has garnered 144,924 views in 7 months.



On March 25th, 2022, TimeWorks upload a video [3] (shown left) titled "IT'S ALMOST HERE!! (MrBeast Vs PewDiePie)". The video garnered over 37,000 views in 3 months. On March 31st, 2022, Pactrick Cc: uploaded a video [4] (shown right) titled "Mr Beast's OBSESSION With PewDiePie" where he talks about MrBeast's history of mentioning PewDiePie and the differences between MrBeast and PewDiePie. The video garnered over 341,000 in 3 months.





MrBeast's Response

On September 7th, 2021, MrBeast appeared as a guest Logan Paul's podcast, IMPAULSIVE [5]. Logan Paul make a joke about how PewDiePie is shaking in his boots” from MrBeast's growth. After that comment, MrBeast commented: “Anyone else in his position would be so arrogant, and it would go to their head,” he said. “I appreciate that he’s humble and not trashing on people.” “If someone criticizes him, his initial response isn’t ‘hey, f**k you, I have ten times your subscribers,’ and I love that about him.”

PewDiePie Response

PewDiePie reacted to a meme on his subreddit about MrBeast overtaking him in subscribers [6]. PewDiePie responded by joking about dropping a diss track, “I guess I’m gonna have to start my next drama with MrBeast,” he said. “Diss track coming -- nah, I’m just joking. I’m not gonna do that.”
