Hyakugojyuuichi 2003 is a 2003 song by Niel Cicierega's music group "Lemon Demon". It pays tribute to various animutations, and led to an animation meme in 2023, which is also known as Beef Bastard due to the portion of the song used.

Origin

The song Hyakugojyuuichi 2003^[1] was first released on Lemon Demon's debut album, Clown Circus,^[2] on April 3rd, 2003. The song pays tribute to Niel Cicierega's early animutations like Hyakugojyuuichi.^[3] The first animation using the song was posted by Andrew Kepple on his website Too Much Spare Time (TmsT) on February 8th, 2004.^[4][5] It would later be re-uploaded to sites such as Newgrounds^[6] and YouTube (shown below).

The first animation using the "Beef Bastard" portion of the song was posted to YouTube by Peetuveetu^[7] on December 18th, 2023, which received over 297,000 views in nearly two years.
