"I've Got Some Children I Need to Make Into Corposes" is a memorable quote uttered by the character Cipher Bill on the American animated series Gravity Falls. Online, screenshots of Cipher Bill saying the line have been used in a reaction image macro series.

Origin

On February 15th, 2016, the Gravity Falls episode "Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back the Falls" aired in the United States.^[1] In the episode, several characters mock Bill Cipher (voiced by Alex Hirsch), who responds to their taunts, "I've got some children I need to make into corpses" (clip below).

Five days later, Redditor ^[2] KnownByManyNames shared a piece of fan art of Bill Cipher with the title "I've got some children I need to make into corpses!" The post received more than 270 points (99% upvoted) in less than five years. The fanart by Tumblr ^[3] user sliplock received more than 11,000 notes on Tumblr in less than five years (shown below).

Spread

Two years later, on February 23rd, 2018, an anonymous Imgur ^[4] user posted the image as reaction image macro with the caption, "a preventable disease when it sees a group of unvaccinated kids" (shown below, left). The post is credited to the instagram account @palewanderer. However, the meme has since been removed from their account.

Over the next year, Redditors continued to use the format. On June 19th, 2019, Redditor^[5] An0nAlly shared a version in which the image responds to a Kids React video about Cyberpunk 2077. The post received more than 1,600 points (96% upvoted) in less than one year (shown below, center).

The following year, on February 24th, 2020, Redditor^[6] TheMegalodonPrime shared a version about anime songs in TikTok videos. The post received more than 20,000 points (92% upvoted) and 200 comments in less than 24 hours (shown below, right).
