News Networks 2016-2021: "As you can see here Trump got TWO scoops of ice cream while everyone else got one! He also used both hands to lift a glass of water! CLEARLY he is unfit for office! Just look at how he almost fell walking down a ramp! We're going to be giving you exclusive coverage on this as long as we can."

News Networks 2021 onwards: "C-cmon guys… it was windy, isn't it kind of silly to make fun of Biden for falling on the stairs? Oh come on everyone falls off their bike sometimes! And don't make fun of his stutter! Now back to reminiscing about Trump's gaffes…"

It's not the events themselves that upsets me. These are embarrassing things to make a fuss over, for either president. The thing I can't stand is how so many news outlets and media personalities set this new status quo for political discourse where people make big deals about optics like "He has an eyepatch! He looks like a villain!" or "Is that a white power sign!?", only to make exceptions for politicians they support and defend them from the type of straw grasping arguments they themselves perpetuated.

So can someone explain how Biden falling off his bike and the trends saying "But Trump" drowned out the news of another Epstein trial witness "killing himself" by hanging himself while simultaneously shooting himself through the midsection with a shotgun? Or literally anything else of substance? Because I'd really like to know.

I absolutely agree, the disparity between the average age of Americans and the average age of politicians is ridiculous and it's fucked up that so many people in office would be facing forced retirement in any other field but

it looks like he has some of those fancy pedal clip things on his bike. My dad and brother are pretty into biking and I recall them saying it can be easy to get your foot caught while dismounting, regardless of age or physical fitness.
