On April 18th, 2019, Lil Dicky premiered the music video of "Earth" on YouTube. Within two weeks, the video received more than 75 million views (shown below). Spread
Animated Kanye West
Following the release of the video, numerous users on Instagram began posting video remixes of the moment in the video when an animated Kanye West appears onscreen and says "I'm Kanye West." However, the line of dialogue is performed by comedian Kevin Hart and not West. For example, on April 27th, 2019, Instagram user @andrew_lastname replaced the audio of West's line with West's infamous statement, "George Bush doesn't care about black people." The post received more than 15,000 likes and 140,000 views in less than one week (shown below).
Over the next several days, others shared variations of the remix. On April 30th, Instagram user @joshua.likes.salsa posted a version that received more 40,000 likes and 300,000 views in two days (shown below).
