Merrivius Elf and Human Comics refers to memes and jokes about a webcomic series created by X user @Merrivius in July 2024. The comics depict an orange-haired elf being mean and condescending to a simple-looking human. Fan art inspired by the comics also began making the rounds in July 2024 after several comics in @Merrivius's original series went viral online.

Origin

The earliest known appearance of a mean, orange-haired elf in X^[1] user @Merrivius's comics is a June 4th, 2024, post in which she says, "Eww a goblin." The post gathered over 57,000 likes in two months (seen below, left). The first appearance of the human character in @Merrivius's comics is a June 12th comic^[2] showing the elf getting visibly agitated due to her seeming hatred of him. The post gathered over 42,000 likes in a month (seen below, right).

Spread

@Merrivius continued to post more comics about the elf and the human in June and July 2024, with a June 28th comic showing the elf horrified by the human mocking her ears. The post gathered over 38,000 likes in a month (seen below, left). A reply to the post by X^[3] user @RedExiles showed the elf thinking about kissing the human, with the caption reading, "elf fantasy." The post is the earliest recorded example of fan art based on the series (seen below, right).

@Merrivius made more posts^[6] about the elf and human on July 4th and July 7th, 2024, one showing the elf angry about the human literally looking down at her, and another in which she mocks his pudgy body (seen below). The posts gathered over 40,000 and 60,000 likes, respectively, in two weeks.

Fan Art

More X users posted fan art about the elf and human in July 2024 as it spread, with @Nem_K_R^[4] gathering over 5,000 likes in five days on a post made on July 12th, 2024 (seen below, left), and @Wass_Nonnam^[5] gathering over 9,000 likes in a similar timeframe on a fan comic showing the elf fantasizing about the human (seen below, right).
