BLP Kosher is a Jewish rapper from Broward County, Florida who grew a cult following on TikTok in early 2023 for his music and his "wicks" hairstyle similar to the Island Boys and Kodak Black, among others from the region. His music videos on YouTube gained him engagement, reactions and memes across social media. He started his rap career in 2021, eventually collabing with the likes of BabyTron in early 2023.

Online History

On July 3rd, 2021, BLP Kosher posted his first music video to his YouTube^[1] channel for his song "One Direction," earning roughly 7,900 views in a year and a half (shown below, left). On July 10th, 2021, he posted his first video to Instagram,^[2] earning roughly 27,700 views in the same time period. BLP Kosher earned more engagement on his YouTube going into 2022. For instance, on May 15th, 2022, he uploaded the music video for "HanukkahWeen" to YouTube,^[3] earning roughly 35,000 views in eight months (shown below, right).

BLP Kosher received virality on TikTok in 2022 despite posting his first TikTok^[4] video in October 2021. On September 20th, 2022, he posted a freestyle video to TikTok,^[5] earning roughly 394,400 plays and 42,800 likes in five months (shown below, left). On January 11th, 2023, BLP Kosher posted a clip from his "Nac 2" music video to TikTok,^[6] earning roughly 838,400 plays and 109,200 likes in one month (shown below, right).

Online Reactions

As BLP Kosher became more well-known, his influence spread to reactions and memes from other creators. For instance, on December 24th, 2022, TikToker^[7] @benn1tt posted a screen-recording of BLP Kosher on Druski's Instagram Live in which Druski cut him short when rapping. The TikTok received roughly 24,900 plays and 1,100 likes in two months (shown below). On February 8th, 2023, TikToker^[8] @flawdajitzz posted a Jeffrey Dahmer watching TV meme with a BLP Kosher music video, earning roughly 207,100 plays and 29,500 likes in one day (since deleted).

On March 17th, 2023, rapper Sematary posted to Twitter,^[12] "Shout out BLP Kosher," earning over 300 likes in one hour (shown below).

BLP Kosher & BabyTron "Mazel Tron"

On March 31st, 2023, the YouTube^[13] channel of Lyrical Lemonade uploaded a music video of the song "Mazel Tron" featuring a collab between BLP Kosher and Michigan rapper BabyTron. Over the course of two days, the video gained roughly 609,000 views and 51,000 likes (shown below). Soon after, clips of the video were shared to TikTok.^[14]
