About

Professional Racist vs. Graphic Designer refers to a series of TikTok Duets in which two people compete to see who can identify the most colors in a test, humorously labeled as "professional racist" and "graphic designer." The trend grew popular with edits of fictional characters taking the test.

Origin

On July 22nd, 2023, TikTok[1] user @anubace uploaded a video of himself using the Color Test filter, trying to find the difference in 26 very similar colors. The post received more than 23.9 million views in one year. On July 26th, 2023, TikTok[2] user @sh11tp0st3r uploaded duets of someone jokingly labeled as "professional racist" trying to compete with @anubace, and the "professional racist" which can find 39 different colors. The post received over 7.1 million views in one year (shown below).

Spread

Later, @sh11tp0st3r's video inspired people to make edits of people or characters competing with each other to see who can find the difference between colors. For example on April 22nd, 2024, YouTube[3] user GrassToucher uploaded an edit of Blue Archive characters Saiba Momoi and Saiba Midori competing against each other, depicting Momoi as racist, referencing the Saiba Momoi Says the N-Word meme. The post received more than 384,000 views in four months (shown below).

On July 14th, 2024, TikTok[4] user @zenn5149 uploaded an American police edit that received more than 1.9 million views in two months (shown below).
