About
Sadkid246 is a Roblox player who was allegedly recorded being abused by his mother while playing the game Bloxburg. A video of the purported incident, which shows Sadkid246, a bacon hair, standing AFK while he screams into his mic, was first posted online as early as June 2023. It inspired rumors that his mother, who is said to be the one abusing him, was arrested shortly after the incident. It also inspired rumors that Sadkid246 either died or was put into a coma as a result of the incident. As of 2025, these rumors have not been confirmed and the original video is suspected by many to be fake, with the screaming sound effect allegedly predating the Sadkid246 video. The video and the audio of Sadkid246 screaming became the subject of memes and commentary videos throughout the early 2020s. Sadkid246 also became the subject of numerous Roblox Experiences, including horror and memorial Experiences that claim he died.
Origin
On June 26th, 2023, TikToker[1] @lenorland posted a video that seems to show a Roblox player, Sadkid246, getting beaten while playing Bloxburg. Purportedly, the video was recorded by another player, who is seen on-screen. In the video, the sounds of screaming and what sounds like a belt can be heard, allegedly coming from Sadkid246's mic. The video is captioned in Russian, "Who was the red pause button invented for?" The upload gained over 3.1 million views in two years and its audio was removed by TikTok on an unknown date.
On July 2nd, Instagram[2] user roblox_dailymemes reposted the video with a new caption, reading, "bros never gonna steal mommys credit card again," garnering over 97,800 likes in two years.
Evidence Of Video Being Fake
Four months earlier, on March 27th, 2023, VoiceMod[3] user HotOnesFan uploaded a sound effect titled "Kid getting dicapline," which is the exact sound heard in the Sadkid246 video, suggesting the video could be fake. The exact origin of the discipline sound effect is unclear, with some also linking it to Roblox YouTuber Lawly, who purportedly used to have a video predating Sadkid246 in which he pranks players using the sound effect. The video has since been deleted, with a screenshot of it purportedly still existing.[4]
Spread
The video garnered viral spread over the following years, inspiring memes referencing it and using the audio from it, as well as rumors about Sadkid246 and his abuser, which are regularly posted as comments under content related to the player.
For example, on July 3rd, 2023, YouTuber[5] idk1568 posted a meme referencing the incident, garnering over 6.9 million views in around two years. The pinned comment under the video shares a rumor about what happened to Sadkid246, reading:
Sadkid246 was playing Roblox with his girl bsf (I think) for 2 whole hours, he wanted to use voice chat so he used his Mom's credit card,his mom got very mad at him and his sister caught him and she told his mom/dad and they beat him up with a belt, after that his parents got arrested and now he live with his grandma.
On July 5th, the original video was reuploaded by TikToker[6] @ya_georgii, garnering over 10 million views in the same span of time. The video's original sound, consisting of the screaming and beating sounds, was popularized among Russian TikTok users as a meme and used over 8,400 times in the next two years.

On April 1st, 2024, YouTuber[7] GY GAMING FF posted a video of a Roblox player resembling Sadkid246 reviving in a game, garnering over 774,000 views in 11 months. On April 7th, YouTuber[8] Epic Bacon posted a meme referencing the video, garnering over 10 million views in the same span of time.
On September 30th, YouTuber[9] MotyPlays posted a video in which they investigate the case of Sadkid246 and detail why they believe the video is fake. In their video, they look into the Lawly channel and debunk some of the theories on Sadkid246, including that there is a news report where the kid behind the Sadkid246 channel talks about being abused. MotyPlays' video concludes that the Sadkid246 video is likely fake. The video gained over 2.8 million views in six months.
On December 11th, 2024, YouTuber[10] NicsterV posted a video about Sadkid246. In the video, the YouTuber both looks into the story of Sadkid246 and plays several Roblox Experiences based on the Sadkid246 story, garnering over 840,000 views in three months.
