Scott Cawthon's MatPat Final Theory Cameo refers to Five Nights At Freddy's (FNAF) creator Scott Cawthon's appearance in Matt Pat's "Final Theory" retirement video. In the video, Cawthon invites MatPat into his home while dressed in an emerald green velvet suit, saying, "Come, we have much to discuss." The clip of Scott Cawthon inviting MatPat became a meme among FNAF fans soon after the video was released on March 9th, 2024, with many fans commenting on how Cawthon's low public profile, and how the appearance was the clearest glimpse people had gotten of the developer in years.
Origin
On March 9th, 2024, YouTube[1] channel The Game Theorists posted an episode commemorating MatPat's retirement from YouTube. Toward the end of the video, MatPat can be seen walking up to a door and ringing a bell, with Five Nights At Freddy's creator Scott Cawthon opening the door and inviting MatPat in, saying, "Come, we have much to discuss."
The video gathered over 8 million views in three days (seen below).

Various FNAF fans reacted to Scott Cawthon's appearance in MatPat's video, given how few images there exist of the developer online. Some fans posted edits of Cawthon wearing a Half-Life suit, saying that he resembled Gordon Freeman, the protagonist from the video game. X[2] user @NoodlebotDK posted one such image, gathering over 16,000 likes in three days (seen below, left). Also on March 9th, X[3] user @xia0ma1n made a post comparing images of Scott from the set of the FNAF movie and the MatPat video, gathering over 94,000 likes in three days (seen below, right).
Also on March 9th, 2024, X[4] user @Zeriq_5 posted a clip edited to make it appear as though Scott Cawthon refuses to let MatPat enter, gathering over 9,000 likes in three days (seen below).

On March 10th, iFunny[5] user ChopChopBacc posted a meme comparing old photos of Scott with the new one, gathering over 11,000 smiles in a day (seen below).
On March 11th, X[6] user @entom_dp posted a clip of MatPat sharing more information about filming the scene, saying that wearing the suit was entirely Scott's own decision.
