On February 11th, 2019 @hastagroundup host @katfunny^[4] tweeted a new hashtag game, #SignsYouAreSingle (shown below). The tweet gained 41 retweets and 63 likes.

Spread

That day Twitter users resopnded with GIFs images and text. @JenTusch posted a GIF of a cat eating a bannana stating, "At th grocery store, you buy only one bannana at a time (shown below).

Some Responses where sad, embarassing or negative. @ErinLea7^[3] posted "A threesome is with Hulu and Netflix. #SignsYouAreSingle" (shown below, left) which gained 176 retweets and 808 likes in a day. @charley_ck14^[7] tweeted that single people "cover your wine glass with a chocolate wrapper to keep out the cat hair. 🍷🍫🐈#SignsYouAreSingle @KattFunny" which accumulated 91 retweets and 622 likes that day (shown below, right).

Some corporations hopped on the trend for marketing purposes. @AmazonPrime^[5] tweeted "Your longest relationship is with us. #SignsYouAreSingle" which garnered 488 retweets and 2,718 likes (shown below, left). @CrunchBar^[6] tweeted "You don’t have to hide your Crunch #SignsYouAreSingle" (shown below right. The tweet gained 19 retweets and 83 likes in a day.

Other Twitter users used the hashtag to praise single life. @GhostMa33993899^[1] tweeted "#SignsYouAreSingle you go out when you want, come home when you want. Order what you want. There's money in your account. Watch what you want on TV. Don't have to diet. Shave when you feel like it. Who says being single sucks?" The tweet gained 34 retweets and 204 likes (shown below, left). @HeyokaMuse^[2] continued the sentiment by tweeting "#SignsYouAreSingle you do whatever want without answering to anyone" which gained 143 retweets and 601 likes in a day (shown below, right).
