The Wednesday Doll Trend, or Wednesday Doll Hair Flip Trend, is a trend in which people go to stores and flip the hair piece attached to a specific Wednesday Addams doll upward to make her appear bald. The trend was popularized on TikTok in late September 2024 and became increasingly popular throughout early October, garnering the attention of actress Jenna Ortega, who plays Wednesday in the Netflix series of the same name.
Origin
On September 21st, 2024, TikToker[1] @imbilly_774 posteda a video captioned "just doing god's work'" where he picks up a Wednesday Addams plush doll, flips the hair up to make her appear bald, then places the doll on the shelf with a collection of others that have already been flipped. The post gained over 134 million views in two weeks.

The trend continued to spread over the following weeks leading into October. For example, on September 29th, 2024, TikToker[2] @xxcandyr posted a video of a display shelf filled with Wednesday dolls with their hair flipped, garnering over 345,000 likes in a week.

On October 1st, TikToker[3] @zirelle.__, an employee at a store that sells the dolls, posted a video of herself flipping the hair back in place, garnering over 4.9 million views in five days. Jenna Ortega commented on the video, writing, "This is so cute."

That same day, TikToker[4] @juneiswack posted an image of a display of the dolls, made bald, next to a sign discouraging people from flipping their hair, garnering over 4 million views in five days. Ortega commented on the video, "please don't.'" Her comment became the subject of media attention from online media outlets including Independent.[5]
