There was a lot to love this year in the world of memes, especially if you're the kind of person with a high libido and nowhere else to go. No, you didn't imagine it — memes were very horny in 2021 no matter where you looked. There's no specific reason for this. Maybe the ongoing loneliness of the pandemic played a part, or maybe it's just the natural way of the web. It's best not to ask these questions, honestly.

Whatever the reason, 2021 brought us more lewd memes than we could ever wish for, and now it's time to celebrate them. In no particular order, here are the 10 best lewd memes of the year.

Ankha Zone

A lewd animation of Animal Crossing character Ankha, an Egyptian pharaoh cat, having sex with a villager while the song "Camel Camel" plays.

• Month: January

• How It Started: NSFW animator ZONE appears to have first posted the animation to Twitter in late January, although the tweet has since been deleted.

• How It Unraveled: It wasn't long before people began requesting the video and reuploading it around the web, including numerous censored versions that went viral on YouTube. These videos, as well as memes referencing Ankha Zone, also went viral on TikTok and Instagram as people drooled over the risque animation (remade version shown below).

Mime And Dash

An NSFW animation by Derpixon where a masked character plays a guessing game with two mime women with very sensual and violent results.

• Month: July

• How It Started: Animator Derpixon, known for his NSFW animations, posted the video to Newgrounds on July 16th where it gained over 3 million views in a month.

• How It Unraveled: Mime And Dash inspired a ton of fan art both SFW and NSFW on Newgrounds and Twitter as it spread outside the site and revealed a strange attraction to mimes in far too many. The animation also went viral on TikTok and inspired a few spinoff memes, like the Mime Thinking Hard format.

Busty Aunt Cass

A viral photoshop that makes Big Hero 6's Aunt Cass look incredibly busty.

• Month: February

• How It Started: Near the end of 2020, a 2016 photoshop of Aunt Cass started to go viral on Reddit as users began incorporating it into image macros. By February 2021, the memes took off as everyone went bonkers over Cass's "bazoongas."

• How It Unraveled: Subreddits like /r/dankmemes were flooded with memes simping over the image. As the trend went on and on, the memes eventually turned tides as people began bonking Aunt Cass posters with memes calling out their horniness. Clearly, the meme made a lasting impact though, leading us into the next entry on the list.

Aunt Cass Checks Your Browser History

An NSFW animation by Redmoa where Aunt Cass checks your browser history and finds some interesting things, then demonstrates those things IRL right then and there.

• Month: September

• How It Started: In September, Aunt Cass reclaimed her throne as a simp-worthy queen when Redmoa posted an NSFW animation to Newgrounds and Twitter showing her performing a very specific sexual act after checking through the character's browser history.

• How It Unraveled: The high-quality animation went viral across the web in a similar fashion to Mime and Dash and Ankha Zone as people created SFW versions and made memes referencing the video. See you in six months for the next horny meme, Cass.

Samsung Sam

An unofficial virtual assistant for Samsung created by Lightfarm that looks way cuter than anyone deserved.

• Month: May

• How It Started: In May, visual arts production house Lightfarm presented a series of 3D renders of a virtual assistant dressed in a black Samsung Galaxy shirt named Sam. In the images, she's posing with Samsung products, doing things like taking a selfie, checking her smartwatch and throwing up a peace symbol

• How It Unraveled: Even though she's not an official Samsung character, Sam set off something primal in internet users who fell in love with her. This led to a lot of fan art of the character, and it goes without saying an estimated 80 percent of that fan art is lewd. Alexa who?

Iced Latte With Breast Milk

A viral tweet about a dude asking for the drink he really wants but can't have because of society or something I don't know.

• Month: September

• How It Started: In September, Twitter user @thejoeydavis tweeted a meme referencing the Mommy? Sorry video about accidentally asking the barista for an iced latte with breast milk over and over again, gaining over 85,000 likes as of December.

• How It Unraveled: The tweet inspired numerous memes referencing the joke, particularly in the form of fan art depicting endowed baristas sick of hearing the request.

Here's Your Receipt, Sir!

A four-panel lewd comic by @merynyaa where an anime woman sells someone a box of condoms and a roll of duct tape, then asks if he needs anything else, followed by him grabbing her shoulder and her nervously smiling.

• Month: April

• How It Started: In late 2019, NSFW artist meru_nyaa posted the comic to Twitter and Newgrounds.

• How It Unraveled: The meme was voiced over in April 2021 and went viral after that as people began posting video edits of the comic, adding something absurd after the shoulder grab, turning a horny meme into a vaguely horny shitpost.

Lady Dimitrescu

A tall, pale, sexy vampire lady from Resident Evil Village that inspired a lot of thirst in January when she was shown off in the game's trailer.

• Month: January

• How It Started: Lady D. first showed her lovely vampire face in June 2020, but didn't inspire a lot of thirst until January when a full teaser for the game was released, showing off the tall vampire lady in all her leggy glory.

• How It Unraveled: Gamers went gaga for Lady D, with many wanting her to straight-up dominate them. This lead to lots of fan art and memes about Maggie Robertson's now-iconic character, including a format with her on the phone with various characters.

Evergiven-Chan

An anthropomorphic version of the Evergiven, the cargo ship that famously got jammed in the Suez Canal earlier this year, but sexy … obviously.

• Month: March

• How It Started: In March, the Evergiven got jammed in the Suez Canal, blocking up a major shipping route and majorly delaying shipments. One brave internet user found this particularly arousing and drew the ship as a huge anime woman stuck in the canal. Jinkies.

• How It Unraveled: Turns out the Twitter user wasn't alone. Soon, artists across the web were drawing their own sexy versions of the Evergiven-chan, showing her stuck in the canal in many forms, all thicc.

Me And My Favorite Follower Not Telling You Who It Is Tho

A meme format where the poster uses a sexual image alongside the quote "me and my favorite follower not telling you who it is tho" as if they really want to get it on with one of their followers. Could it be YOU!?

• Month: June

• How It Started: In June, Instagram page @tableton.wavv posted an image macro of an anime woman licking another anime woman captioned "me and my favorite follower not telling you who it is tho."

• How It Unraveled: The meme spread like wildfire across Instagram and Twitter as people applied the phrase to new, often sexual images implying that they're thirsting over one of their followers. As if anyone would thirst over a Twitter user.
