On March 30th, 2022, YouTuber^[1] JoseFinesseTV uploaded the official music video for "Bacon, Egg N Cheese" by Wavyrioo, featuring D-Dotty and DellyDell. The song's hook involves the repetition of "Bacon, egg and cheese," showing the rappers dancing with the breakfast sandwich in a New York deli or bodega. Over three years, the video gained over 252,500 views and 9,600 likes (shown below).

On August 24th, 2022, Wavyrioo posted a clip from the music video to TikTok,^[2] gaining over 1.7 million plays and 187,000 likes in three years. The video spawned a TikTok sound^[12] that was used by others in the following months and years.

The sound gained minor use on TikTok heading into late 2022. For instance, on August 29th, TikToker^[3] @ajsowaveyyyofficial posted a video of himself and his friends dancing to the song, receiving over 100,100 likes in three years (shown below).

On October 2nd, 2022, TikToker^[4] @god_manor shared a photo slideshow, including memes about Twitch streamers like BruceDropEmOff and Kai Cenat, using the song's sound, gaining over 29,800 likes in three years.

Similar photo slideshows were shared in late 2022, like one from TikToker^[5] @713koolaid on December 28th, featuring multiple memes about streamer Fanum, gaining over 86,100 likes in three years.

Years later, on February 4th, 2025, TikToker^[6] @yoloc0n shared a video of a dancer getting sturdy with a long text caption that started with, "I'm from NYC." The video used the "Bacon, Egg and Cheese" song as its sound, gaining over 13,300 likes in a month (shown below).

The abovementioned video inspired viral use of the "Bacon, Egg and Cheese" song in the following weeks. For instance, a common joke associated with the song was the question, "How you know I'm Dominican?"

The first known meme to combine the question and song was shared in a photo slideshow by TikToker^[7] @jugginsomalis on February 10th, showing a Dominican man wearing tight, black skinny jeans and a similarly tight, wide-neck T-shirt with the caption reading, "Wait how YK im dominican gng?" gaining over 154,700 likes in a month (shown below).

On February 12th, 2025, TikToker^[8] @traitfut posted a similar meme but in video form, receiving over 339,900 likes in three weeks (shown below).

On February 11th, TikToker^[9] @nyc_randy0 posted a video using the song, showing TikToker Don Pollo dancing with a caption that used slang abbreviations like TS PMO and SYBAU, gaining over 187,300 likes in three weeks (shown below).

On February 18th, 2025, TikToker^[10] @blitzhiscat shared a "How you know I'm Dominican?" meme with the song, showing streamer Fanum dancing, among other men said to be Dominican, gaining over 548,000 likes in 17 days (shown below).

On March 4th, TikToker^[11] @celo.clips posted a video of streamer Fanum reacting to the "Bacon, Egg and Cheese" song and the memes featuring himself, receiving over 356,100 likes in three days (shown below).

By March 7th, 2025, the meme's primary TikTok sound^[12] had amassed over 8,300 posts.
