About

Good Morning Sunshine or Good Mor-ning Sunshine is a memorable quote from a political cartoon by Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Steve Sack, whose illustration of United States President Barack Obama milking a dried-up cow was the inspiration for a series of object-labeled images and an exploitable meme format.

Origin

Following the inauguration of President Barack Obama in 2009, political cartoonist Steve Sack published a one-panel comic of President Obama carrying numerous buckets labeled with different things the government will pay for and a skinny cow labeled "U.S. Treasury." Obama is shown saying, "Good mor-ning sunshine!" The earliest available archive of the comic online was published on the blog skol-blog[1] on March 13th, 2009.
