Great King of Evil Ganondorf Doing Everything, also known as Dark Lord Ganondorf Doing Everything, refers to an exploitable video trend in which meme creators add a deep, low voice effect to viral videos to represent the voice of Ganondorf from The Legend of Zelda. The trend started on Instagram in late 2022, later spreading to TikTok and YouTube, among other video platforms, in 2023.
Origin
On August 12th, 2022, Instgram[1] user @souledsurvivor posted a Doesn't Need Autotune meme that added a deep voice effect to make the rapper sound like Ganondorf. The video's like count was hidden by @souledsurvivor (shown below).
Spread
Instagram user @souledsurvivor continued the meme format going into late 2022. For instance, on September 19th, 2022, @souledsurvivor posted a video to Instagram[2] with a top caption reading, "If Ganondorf gave Link a haircut." The video added deep and high-pitched voice effects to a barber video from TikToker[3] @mastermindzbeatz (most known for the line "Did you get that thang oiled down?"), made to resemble Ganondorf and Link (shown below, left). The video's like count was also hidden by @souledsurvivor, however, it gained numerous reposts on YouTube[4] and TikTok[5] going into late 2022. On January 5th, 2023, @souledsurvivor posted another rap-related iteration to Instagram,[6] gaining roughly 1,100 likes in seven months (shown below, right).
Going into mid-2023, original iterations started to surface on TikTok. For instance, on July 3rd, 2023, TikToker[7] @jajahshenam posted an iteration reading, "i killed Great King of Evil GANONDORF in the gulag," gaining roughly 365,900 plays and 67,700 likes in one month (shown below, left). On August 2nd, 2023, TikToker[8] @palmoiive posted a video reading, "Dark Lord GANONDORF ATTENDS GRADUATION," gaining roughly 318,400 plays and 72,800 likes in six days (shown below, right).

Reposts of the aforementioned videos then went viral on Instagram[9][10] in August 2023.
