On April 17th, 2019, Facebook[1] novelty page Every Spongebob Frame in Order was launched, posting frames from the episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants animated series in chronological order, starting with episode one "Help Wanted" of season one of the series (three frames from episode six[2][3][4] of season one shown below).

In May 2019, sister Twitter[5] account Every Spongebob Frame in Order (@SbFramesInOrder) was launched, becoming active[6] on January 25, 2020.

Features

Both the Facebook and the Twitter account post 25 frames per hour at the 3 FPS framerate, therefore covering 8.33 seconds of an episode in one hour, or 3 minutes and 18 seconds of the show per day. The process is automated.

Highlights

Multiple posts made by the page went viral on Facebook and Twitter with multiple shares, with frames carrying certain unintentional undertones garnering paritcularly high attention. For example, on October 7th, 2019, the Facebook page posted[7] a frame from episode 29th of season two of the series which could be interpreted as a reference to the 9/11 attacks (despite the episode airing in May 2001). The post (shown below, left) received over 43,000 reactions and 26,000 shares in one year. A live action frame from episode 21 of season three of the series, posted[8] on January 9th, 2020, received over 34,000 reactions and 11,000 shares (shown below, right).

Traffic

As of October 29th, 2020, the Facebook page had over 839,000 followers, while the Twitter account had over 23,000 followers.
