The Best Pedophile in Fiction, also known as The Greatest Pedophile in Fiction, refers to a screenshot of a TikTok edit for the character Mamiya Takuji from the Japanese visual novel video game Wonderful Everyday: Diskontinuierliches Dasein, also known as Subarashiki Hibi or SubaHibi, which calls him the "best pedophile in fiction" in the starting caption. The original video was posted by TikToker @cryptonwx in June 2024. In the following months, the screenshot of the video's opening frame spread on social media platforms like Twitter / X and Reddit, often used as a reaction image to stories about predators and grooming.

Origin

On June 26th, 2024, TikToker^[1] @cryptonwx posted an edit about the Subarashiki Hibi character Mamiya Takuji, which labeled him as the "best pedophile in fiction" in the opening. Over one year, the video received over 4,200 likes (shown below).

On July 25th, X^[2] user @halflife2beta tweeted a screenshot of the TikTok edit, captioning it with an extended LMFAO. Over one year, the tweet received over 8,600 likes (shown below).

Spread

On September 18th, 2024, X^[4] user @Radishru replied to X user @LadPsycho, who had claimed that Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki was "one of the biggest contributions [to] why Loli fetish booms in Japan." @Radishru replied by asking, "With that PFP?" questioning @LadPsycho's profile picture of an image of Cardcaptor Sakura character Touya Kinomoto.

Later that day, X^[3] user @LadPsycho quote-tweeted the reply with the Best Pedophile in Fiction image, gaining over 8,800 likes in 10 months (shown below).

On December 5th, 2024, X^[5] user @GreasyGinz0 tweeted the Best Pedophile in Fiction image, captioning it, "Anyone got the full video of this?" The tweet received over 51,100 likes in a day, according to screenshots reposted to X^[6] (shown below). The original tweet has since been deleted.

On December 7th, Redditor Jackabing posted the image to the /r/okbuddybaka^[7] subreddit, captioning it, "The GOAT of Epstein island." The post received over 800 upvotes in seven months (shown below).

On July 25th, 2025, X^[8] user @tsucidial tweeted the Best Pedophile in Fiction image, adding a caption about accidentally "e-marrying" a minor in Roblox, gaining over 28,000 likes in four days (shown below).

On July 27th, X^[9] user @FVCK_KATHERlNE tweeted, "'The greatest pedophile in fiction' has been popping up in my head all day n killing me," gaining over 38,000 likes in two days (shown below).
