Touch Fluffy Tail is a phrase from the erotic game Monster Girl Quest. The phrase has since become synonymous with an affinity for fictional characters, typically monster girls, who have animal features, such as a fluffy tail.

Origin

In Monster Girl Quest when faced against a kitsune named Tamamo, the protagonist is given the option to perform is “Touch Fluffy Tail”. Selecting this option will cause the player to be overcome by the “fluffiness” and lose the game.

Spread

On May 21st, 2012 YouTuber and independent music producer Ken Ashcorp uploaded a song titled "Touch Fluffy Tail," referencing to the option from Monster Girl Quest (shown below). As of June 9th, 2021, the video has over 7 million views.

Ken Ashcorp's original song has been remixed numerous times on YouTube by creators such as Daydream Anatomy (shown below, left) and Antiskill Nara (shown below, right).^[5]

On January 9th, 2013 YouTuber Toxsyl uploaded a Dark Souls clip in which he attempts to touch a boss' fluffy tail (shown below).

The Urban Dictionary entry for the phrase was added on February 23rd, 2015.^[1] On Tumblr there are various posts tagged under "Touch Fluffy Tail".^[2] On DeviantArt there are also various posts that center around "Touch Fluffy Tail".^[3] There is also a website called "Touch Fluffy Tail – The Monster Girl Repository" which is dedicated to stories and art centered around monster girls.^[4]
